The War Room: 2010-11 Non-Predictions Predictions
Just as we wrote last year, predictions are for fools, and we are indeed that. Then again, what hockey fan isn’t? How can you not lean towards favouring your team, unless you’ve got money riding on it.
Last October, we asked the good listeners of The War Room to give us their predictions for the upcoming season. Only Zach in Detroit was wise enough to pick the Chicago Blackhawks to win the Stanley Cup.
Andrew in Wisconsin went against the grain, and said the Colorado Avalanche would take the Northwest Division. He was close.
David in New Jersey said the U.S. would win the Hockey Gold Medal at the Vancouver Olympics. He was very close.
Red Wing in Illinois boldly predicted the Phoenix Coyotes would make the playoffs. He was bang on.
So what about this season? We boiled the predictions down to Five Essential Questions.
- Which team would win the 2010-11 Stanley Cup?
- Which team would lose in the Final?
- Who would win the 2010-11 Hart Memorial Trophy?
- Who would be the first NHL coach fired this season?
- Give us one “wacky” prediction.
Here are those results…
